We suppose everyone knows how hard it is to hide the trashbag from being seen. It is so common, we don’t even notice it anymore. That’s why we’re really happy to see that someone finally came up with the best solution!

Tubelor is the award winning product of the japanese Ideaco studio. It doesn’t only have a neat, minimalist design, but it also hides that ugly bag perfectly. Such a simple idea that makes us wonder: why did it take so long to come up with it?
One of the easiest marketing tricks is to put a cute animal on the promotional image. I fall for it all the time!

The Bachus winerack - by the way - was designed by Marcel Wanders for Slide Design. Oh, and here’s another bunny!

For some odd reason, it reminds us to this.

Seoul Design Week was held between the 20th and the 27th of December, 2007. One of our favourite design sites, DesignBoom put up a gallery of the whole event, that is worth to check out!

Besides the exhibited objects / products, there are photos of the exhibition building and of the designers themselves as well.
Attention flower lovers, pacifists, porcelain fans, humourous and kitchy people!

What we’re facing right here, are vases by french studio, La Tete Au Cube, named ‘Tank You’. More patterns are available as well, for 85 euros each.
And again something that makes me wish I was a child!

This cute little night light will surely scare away all the monsters of the dark!
Guess: are these paintings or rugs?

Of course, the weirdness of the question gives away the answer: these are rugs indeed. And while we browsed the site of HZL by Henzel, we realised that we did write about them before. We didn’t see the whole collection then, and these do deserve a second post, so no regrets!

When I’m rich, I will open a bar. And when I open a bar, I will fill it with furniture like this.

Not only because it matches the top I’m wearing at the moment. This two seated loveseat was designed by Jake Phipps, and is available in other colours as well, in either gloss or matt finish.
Are you sitting in front of the computer all day? You forgot how fresh air, nature and sunlight feels? If this is the case, close the browser, switch off the computer, and go out for a walk while the sun is out. If you can’t do that, we advise you to get the Sensory lamp, designed by Sara Rossbach.

The lamp mimics natural day cycles by altering the colours and intensity. The smell of the grass, and the maintenance is a constant reminder of the nature out there.

The designer plays safe: by attaching the mousepad, once we install it on our worktable, it is impossible to forget about our little garden.
I only wish we could plant some flowers or vegetables in there!
It’s amazig, what this artist is capable of with only a ballpen.

Of course we suppose that the spanish Juan Francisco Casas is using at least a bag of pens for one drawing. For more breathtaking, and not so work safe pictures, visit his gallery!

A funny coincidence happened today while I was going through my RSS feed. There were two article right after each other, and it made me giggle.
Look at the first one.

The Just My Luck badge is for those, who immediately step into a dog poo when they first wear their new favourite shoes, who immediately got hit by a bird when they only take their hat off for a second, who immediately makes the rain fall from the clouds when they’re wearing white.
Right after there was this article:

It seems pigeons are overpopulating. This Bird Turd Emergency Kit is for the drivers, who like to park their car in the shade. And what’s inside?
Everything you might need in case of… emergency! There’s a plain black version of it as well for the gentlemen.

This day started out as a usual moody monday, until I found the english design company, Inflate. Their portoflio is huge, their talent is great, and their ideas are neverending. From the name you can guess what their products are about. But if you think all you get is some inflated mattress, you couldn’t be any more wrong.

Besides creating bizarre products, they also make amazing interior and exterior structures.

They have so many interesting products, that instead of choosing one or two, I just hid some more behind a cut. Click!

The most well-known, almost celebrity symbol of traditional chinese philosophy is Yin and Yang. It inspired many people, many artists. Luckily it inspired the german Dedon as well, who designed this beautiful lounger.

They were made of 4000 meters long fibre (that is like 36 football fields!). It’s suitable for two persons, with two seperate pieces. Recommended for outside use.

The two sides represent the two elements, that create a unity of opposites. The little pillows are a nice touch as well.

Your worst childhood nightmare, the monster under the bed is real!

It was Longoland, aka Joshua Ben Longo, who made our fears into a rug.
And if it’s not enough, just go and check out his recent and older works. Me, looking through them, can’t help myself checking under my bed from time to time to see if everything was still alright there.

Brrrrrr.

Voilá, dear egoists, creatives, lovers, fans, what would you spell out this alphabet furniture?

These pieces of the swiss design studio, Set26, has multiple functions: it can be used as a tabletop or as a storage, plus it could give information as well.

And of course we love ourselves, but not as much as time consuming it would be to cut out all the letters and arrange them into one line of furniture. But I’m sure you know what I was trying to do here.

Being a secretary is not the most exciting work one can have. But thanks to Anne Taintor, you can make it more glamourous and you can also make your collegues smile with these sticky-notes.

There’s only one thing that is worse than selling christmas related products in september: selling valentines day gifts in january! So as an old habit, I skip every heart-filled entry in my RSS reader without a second thought. Normally. But I couldn’t help noticing this one.

These pillowcases by BoldLoft of course work best if the two halves are not on one bed, but in different homes, in different cities, in different countries. There are more of these, and there are also other items, if you can take it.

What did you want to grow up to when you were a child? Me, I either wanted to be a teacher or a clown. I’m neither, or maybe I’m both. But if you wanted to be a newscaster or the weathergirl, it’s never too late to try yourself! Maybe with this reversible cartboard theater.

Of course I’m aware that these are originally for children, so if you have one at hand, noone’s going to look at you strange for keeping this at home. If not, you can still say that it’s a christmas present that never got given away.
The theater consists of three parts, and costs 27.30 pounds, which is a bit steep. But hey, your childhood dream worths it!

I was happy to hear that from the 1st of January, smoking is banned in all public places in France as well. Luckily for the smokers, the weather in the country is almost spring-like, so they can do what they like the best: sit outside their favourite cafeterie or bar, smoke, drink, and watch the world go by.
But for worst conditions, parisian designer, Florian Brillet came up with an idea, that he calls Smoker Bell. It is indeed an adjustable hood that can be attached to a wall and hosts two persons.

He didn’t forget the oh-so-important drinks stand, so at least it doesn’t exactly look like a bigger version of the old-school blow dryer bell.
