I’m not a huge fan of watches (a phone is good enough to check the time), but if I had one, it would be definitely this one. Especially, if they had a girly version as well.

If you’re feeling nostalgic, get your Cassette Face Watch from ASOS for 35 pounds.

So we couldn’t scare you away? You still need your sugar dose? Try to stop your craving with this!

This chocolate by the italian AD&F studio shows the calories on each piece. It’s probably the best way to stop your munchies.

This entry could be a riddle: what can you see on the picture? Other than a really cute bunny, of course.

Surprisingly, it’s a salt grinder! But you can get a black one that functions as a pepper grinder if you squeeze those ears. The bunnies were born at Chef’N.

Keeping your laptop on your lap for a long time is impossible without burning yourself. And it’s not good for the laptop either. Of course the best solution always comes in the form of tentacles!

Right, so the company that sells it, Intelligent Forms (whose name already suggests something extraterrestrial!) named the pillow Log, but you should know better.

The pillows are made of recycled and organic material, and are attached to each other with snaps.

Have you ever thought about what one could do with so many table tennis balls? No problem. The dutch Kleefstra Studio had.

For example, the Bettine lamp is made out of 315 celluloid balls, but you can get table or floor lamps hand made the same way.

Luckily the racket doesn’t come with it!

Let’s mix together the two things I appreciate in life the most: design and music. Let’s mix them, literally.

At first sight I admit I thought I was looking at a really cool bathroom accessory. But no, this is Lusso, the newest turntable by the german Montegiro.

So far we thought you can only find sleeping bunnies on the grass or in magic hats. Now we’re shocked to learn that they can be found in storage boxes as well!

The Rabbit Storage Box was made by Matilda Lindblom and Sanna Lindström for the swedish brand, Heirloom. It is available in three sizes, and apparently, you can even sit on the two big ones. Just beware of the rabbit!

No, these aren’t wine glasses turned upside down.

Well, maybe they are, but their mouth is on the other end as well, so you can comfortably use them not only to pour wine, but to pour oil, vinegar, or other dressings on your meal.

The Ming oil & vinegar cruets are made by the dutch company, Jansen & Co.

Here’s another great idea how to re-use the unwanted bottles. Of course we’ve always been using bottles to water our pots, but let’s admit. It looks much more practical like this.

It was Nicolas Le Moigne who designed this screw on spout, that can be used with either a plastic or a glass bottle.

What is a boss supposed to do on a monday morning, when there are no meetings yet, when there is no coffee yet? Lucky you can always find something interesting to do in an office; for example a Newton’s Cradle.

But don’t worry if you’re not in the office, but in the kitchen. Qian Jiang made sure you take your part in the fun, by turning the classic desktop icon into a kitchen accessory. Just choose five of your favourite spices, pour it in the balls, and there’s your new salt & pepper shaker!

It’s pretty, it’s unique, it’s funny.

If you’re the kind of person, who stands in front of the mirror for hours looking for the right accessory, look no further. The EPA dress, designed by Stephanie Sandstrom will give you the answer. If masks are your thing, that is.

The dress, that is on view now at the San Francisco 2nd Skin exhibition, reacts on pollution, as it has embedded sensors that can read the surrounding atmosphere. Whenever the air quality is poor, it crumples up as if you had no iron at home.
Not sure if it’s too practical, but at least the crumpled look will definitely make you go back home and avoid bad air.

Last time we found a trash can with the neatest design, and this time here’s a very practical one.

The Clothespin Trash Can only costs 17 dollars, and it’s a great way to re-use those plastic bags you’ve been collecting in your drawer. But if you look closely, you might realize you can easily do one yourself.

Since I know you spend more time in front of the computer, than in bed, I know you like funny geek-related items, like these.

Even though these Ctrl, Alt and Del key shaped things are salty lliquorice candies!

CtrlAltDel means Peter Luining, who is an artist, curator, theorist, VJ, musician and the combination of all of these, living in Amsterdam. Check out his other works as well!

I don’t want to go all sentimental, but two years is a lot! I can’t even think two years ahead, let alone backwards. Not to mention the growth in numbers: this year alone we’ve already had more visitors than last year altogether. Thanks for all the links, trackbacks, thanks for spreading the word about us.
And if you want to show us some more love (and frankly, why wouldn’t you?), please add us as friends here or here, or why not vote for us here and here?
You could also participate in our anniversary competition to win this lovely summer dress from Naketano:

For that, all you have to do is answer these two simple questions:
1. Describe with one word the collections of Naketano!
2. Describe with one word the Elit Alice blog!
No, there are no bad answers, everyone who answers has a chance to win! It’s only for our reading pleasure and curiosity.
The competition closes on the 16th of May at midnight (GMT+1).

Today is the big day, our second anniversary. But before I launch our game, let me start the day with something cheerful.

Since today is all about nu-rave, since today everyone is a DJ, since today it’s apparently cool to use big headphones outside as well, let’s push the bounderies with the Sherbet Colorblock headphones by the one and only Fred Flare.

It’s been a long time since we last bumped into an octopus-related item (we’re looking forward to see which animal is going to be the next trend.), but here is one, though the relation is only in the name and in the inspiration.

The designer is Vivien Müller, the product is the OctoCube, a radiator. The pecuilarity of the contemporary design is that thanks to its structure, with its 34 cm height it still heats as much as a standard radiator.

We would have called it BrainCube though.

It took a long time, but finally spring is here in Paris as well. What spring! The sun is shining as if it was August! Time to look for that little summer dress hiding under the tons of warm clothes. Sounds easy, but my wardrobe is like a roundabout, one in - one out, otherwise even Louvre wouldn’t be big enough to store it. So as always, I ended up with no summer clothes.
There’s no fashion when it’s 30 degrees out there, I thought. You just put on as little clothing as you can, pour cold water over your head, and you’re ready to go. But I was wrong; you’re probably better off with the german brand, Naketano’s creations.

Of course the head designer, Nicole Christensen designed more colourful and comfortable clothes for the cooler summer nights as well.

If you like them, make sure you don’t miss our 2nd anniversary next week, when you’ll have a chance to win a dress by NAKETANO! Subscribe to our RSS-feed now!
