Hard to say what happened to this table. Been left outside in a storm and been struck by thunder? Fell off from a high building and cracked?

I have been looking at that picture for ages now. I just can’t decide if I love it or hate it!
It’s very clever, probably not practical with a one year old though! She would end up crawling in it and making a right mess! :-)
