Who said that medical accessories, such as neck and back braces should be ugly?

Francesca Lanzavecchia re-designed them and made them more acceptable and more wearable.

This is the thesis project of the italian designer, whose tutor was Gijs Bakker from Droog Design.

We are impressed. We are really impressed. Surprisingly, by a garbage bag. But not your ordinary garbage bag…

It’s unbelievable what difference two dots and a cross can make. The idea of this cute rabbit garbage bag comes from the (obviously) japanese company, MAQ Inc.

This rabbit is the latest addition to the series of garbage bag art that is supposed to encourage you not to leave your garbage behind. You can buy the bags at the Mottainai shop.

Dogs and cats and cool furniture? That is two reasons more than I need to publish something here.

But this isn’t only the usual ‘Let’s sell this product with a cute animal‘ marketing idea, although that also works well. DenHaus designs furniture that “doubles as comfy hideaways for your pets”.

The dens you can use as tables are scratch-safe, and they are available in three different designs.

I’m not sure if it’s an idea of a genius or of a torturer.

The seat is - of course - by Atypyk.
We already celebrated once the revival of the scratch & sniff stickers in the form of a card. But what is even better is that you can buy a wallpaper with the same concept!

It is designed by Michael Angelo for the company Flavor Paper and is available with three patterns, in three scents: cherry, banana and tutti frutti.

These are real. If you scratch them, you can sniff them. I only wonder how they’re going to look later?
Even though our eyes are used to good and bad design, this one still makes them twitch.

This psychedelic Hypnose sofa was designed by the Brazilian Rafael Simoes Miranda, so send your ophthalmology bill to him.

On another note, it’s quite amazing.
We know that our love for our pets can be a bit over the top, but we never thought you could love a fruit so much you knit them a jacket.

Of course it’s also possible that Jacqueline Dufresne only knit these jackets to keep the apple from getting bruised.

If you’re crafty you can knit one for yourself, but if you’re like us, you can still buy one for 20 dollars.
I’m getting convinced by these bowls that I need to try chinese food at home.

The set consists of a bowl, a plate and chopsticks. For a family dinner, there are sets for kids as well.
Meric Kara makes us nervous. Nervous, because she has so many amazing concepts, we don’t even know which one to chose. I just start with the on that brought us to her website.

Even if you don’t keep a diary, reading before falling asleep is a conventional habit. Thanks to Miss Kara, we can read til we drop, and it’s granted that you drop your head on something soft and comfortable.

This bookcover is one from the Mogu pillow collection.

When I was little I liked to hide my treasures under my pillow. Of course it never worked out well, most of it got lost somewhere between the bed and the wall. Now I might get a second chance, although todays treasures don’t really fit under a pillow.

The PJ Pocket Pillow doesn’t even look like your average pillow. But if you look closer, you see that it was inspired by a japanese anemone box, so it can be opened and you can hide your secret stash inside.

The pillow is available in three different patterns and in various colours, for 105 dollars.
What happens if you spend too much time with your philosophy studies?

This is what happens.

The newest addition to the geek accessories: the knitted power cord.

For how to wear it, use your imagination!

How many times were you disappointed after eating the frozen pizza that looked soooooo yummie on the box? It would be much better to buy something that doesn’t look so good but tastes great.

This is what inspired the Vibrand advertising agency when creating their campaign for the Ugly Pizza, that is distributed by Schwan Consumer Brands.

I’ve been surfing the net all day without finding anything inspirational, so in the end I was browsing flickr to find a cute kitten photo to post. But what I found was a very different kitten, still equally cute.

THe kitten above was made of wool by Rose Thistle, who loves “to create custom, needlefelt, wool sculpture portraits of your beloved pets”, not in the way usual toys are made.

More Woolitures can be seen here, and you can order or buy your own at the ETSY site of the artist.
Everyone knows the story of The Hare and the Tortoise by La Fontaine. Now. Let’s call the hare Second, the tortoise Minute, and the race Hour.

What we get is probably the cutest clock I’ve ever seen.

The designer of the Race Clock is Ignacio Pilotto.
It hasn’t been long since we featured the mexican NEL team and their Fill In The Cat furniture, but it’s time again to write about them, since besides the octopus, the polar bear is our favourite animal.

We are inconsolably sas that these cute wide beasts will be homeless soon. This Global Warming carpet is a heads up by NEL.

The concept of the rug is the same as of last years rug, Iraq, designed by the same people.

Living in a city, where a picnic in the park means eating your sandwich on a bench, and no alcohol is allowed in public places, I really feel the need of a personal green space like this.

And the best thing about it? It’s mobile!

The idea of turning a caravan into a private garden is of Kevin VanBraak, who even carefully placed a campfire in the middle.

All it needs is a roof for rainy days, but I guess you can just fold it up and stay inside.
