I think we should all buy one and then we should organise a flashmob!

It is - or at the moment was available at Shop Ecko.

I’m sorry in advance if it’s only me, but I got really excited seeing these shorts: the answer to all my questions. They’re on the top of my wishlist at the moment!

GymGirl Ultra, in every size and in five colours.
Who said that medical accessories, such as neck and back braces should be ugly?

Francesca Lanzavecchia re-designed them and made them more acceptable and more wearable.

This is the thesis project of the italian designer, whose tutor was Gijs Bakker from Droog Design.

For how to wear it, use your imagination!

.. are the neverending picnics.

Five percent of profits of the Bread and Wine bag, designed by Rebecca Minkoff goes to The Earth Organization. Can be pre-ordered now.
Is there a body part that hasn’t been decorated with some jewellery yet? We’re surely running out of possibilities to make innovations on this field. But dutch people never cease to surprise me. This time it’s Eric Klarenbeek with his eye jewellery.

Would you dare to try?
Buy the time you read this, I’ll be out of Paris for good. I don’t normally go personal here, but this is also a public announcement: updating might be a bit slow for a few days, this moving countries thing is tiring. Sorry for that.

Meanwhile why don’t you try and make me happy by voting for the photo above at Postlapsaria! And while you’re there, don’t forget to look around. The clothes are amazing!
Even though it might sound a bit weird to still play with legos over a certain age, we’re glad that there are some who stayed hooked on them. Like Dee & Ricky.

Although at the moment there are only brooches and belts available, we hope that soon more accessories will be added to the collection!
We’re almost slipping into the ‘Not Safe For Work’ category here, and even though I don’t normally like looking under girls skirts, these photos mesmerized me.

These are a mixture of photography, fashion and product design. The artist is the french Marianne Maric, who shows girls “as a thing conveyed by the “entertainment world”.

The lamp dresses are fully functioning light sources. Originally the idea was to put them in a dark room and let the public switch the “lights” on and off, thus making them a simple household appliance.

The Lamp Girls were exhibited at the Magda Danysz Gallery in the beginning of 2008.

Maybe not technically speaking, but for me, the most important part of my bike is still the seat. If that isn’t good, nothing is good. It has to be comfortable, and all the time dry! But I didn’t think that it could be the coolest bit on the bike; however, these Coolsec covers proved it could be.

There are three types available (regular, sport and holland). Every piece is unique, padded, reversible and waterproof, and they have an elastic rubber band around for easy fit.
If you’re the kind of person, who stands in front of the mirror for hours looking for the right accessory, look no further. The EPA dress, designed by Stephanie Sandstrom will give you the answer. If masks are your thing, that is.

The dress, that is on view now at the San Francisco 2nd Skin exhibition, reacts on pollution, as it has embedded sensors that can read the surrounding atmosphere. Whenever the air quality is poor, it crumples up as if you had no iron at home.
Not sure if it’s too practical, but at least the crumpled look will definitely make you go back home and avoid bad air.

I don’t want to go all sentimental, but two years is a lot! I can’t even think two years ahead, let alone backwards. Not to mention the growth in numbers: this year alone we’ve already had more visitors than last year altogether. Thanks for all the links, trackbacks, thanks for spreading the word about us.
And if you want to show us some more love (and frankly, why wouldn’t you?), please add us as friends here or here, or why not vote for us here and here?
You could also participate in our anniversary competition to win this lovely summer dress from Naketano:

For that, all you have to do is answer these two simple questions:
1. Describe with one word the collections of Naketano!
2. Describe with one word the Elit Alice blog!
No, there are no bad answers, everyone who answers has a chance to win! It’s only for our reading pleasure and curiosity.
The competition closes on the 16th of May at midnight (GMT+1).

It took a long time, but finally spring is here in Paris as well. What spring! The sun is shining as if it was August! Time to look for that little summer dress hiding under the tons of warm clothes. Sounds easy, but my wardrobe is like a roundabout, one in - one out, otherwise even Louvre wouldn’t be big enough to store it. So as always, I ended up with no summer clothes.
There’s no fashion when it’s 30 degrees out there, I thought. You just put on as little clothing as you can, pour cold water over your head, and you’re ready to go. But I was wrong; you’re probably better off with the german brand, Naketano’s creations.

Of course the head designer, Nicole Christensen designed more colourful and comfortable clothes for the cooler summer nights as well.

If you like them, make sure you don’t miss our 2nd anniversary next week, when you’ll have a chance to win a dress by NAKETANO! Subscribe to our RSS-feed now!
My all time favourite parisienne, Nicole Locher is finally back with her new collection. Since we found her website last year, we’ve been die-hard fans!

Amongst the new styles with new embroidered texts you can also find the most popular pieces of last years collection. That makes us even happier!

I still don’t have one but I still want one. And it’s my birthday this sunday, for your information. ;)
Violise Lunn danish fashion designer is making her one of a kind pieces of clothing in her studio in Copenhagen. But alongside creating wearable items she has another obsession: unwearable items.

But these aren’t unwearable for the same reasons haute couture clothing is. The reason is the material: these dresses are made of paper.

And even though you can’t wear paper dresses, you can see them on different exhibitions all over the world.

This is not the first time that Hannah Perner-Wilson is featured on this site. Her new project, the JoySlippers, are designed with pressure sensors embedded in both heels and toes that gather the information on the shifted weight, which information is then fed to a computer.

So what is this good for? For example a drawing program could interpret this information by visualizing the motion. That means you practically draw with your feet. This could be really interesting when analyzing dancing patterns.
These slippers are still under work, for example a wireless version is soon to be released. But if you can’t wait, you can make your own JoySlippers.
Souffrez pour moi. Suffer for me, that is what Ninette Van Kamp asks for.

Miss Van Kamp is from The Netherlands, and she explores the “conflicting relationship between pain and beauty through the medium of textiles”.

Beautiful.

Spring is near, soon parks will be invaded by those picnicing outdoors. Sure, who wouldn’t like laying down in the grass and eating cheese?

It’s even better if you have one of those classic blankets with you! It’s even better, if you don’t have to carry there and back that blanket.

This idea of the Reddish Studio is from 2002. Buttercup, the picnic-dress lets you have a festive meal wherever you are.

Let’s spend a bit more time with finnish designers. Tiia Vanhatapio is also working in fashion. We love her collection for adults as well, but what really caught our eyes, was her clothing line for babies, named “Quelle Jolie Bébé!“.

Of course I’d love to dress my baby in a kimono! The other designs are lovely as well, and the best part: most of them are unisex.
